Background: Sam was born at SFC. He is a 3rd generation of our program. Sam comes neutered and up to date on all shots and Rabies. Sam is dog door trained, lap trained, bellyband trained, treat motivated, leash trained, and just the entire package. He does well in the car, with other animals and loves to run zoomies. He loves to snuggle on the couch. Where there is a blanket, you'll find Sam. He will growl talk to you and he has adorable opinions and he will make you laugh. He is charming. I can't say enough good things about this sweet boy. He will need time to warm up to his new environment. He is incredibly loyal to a fault and gets his feelings hurt when he isn't the center of your attention. He loves bones, chewies and is very treat motivated.  He would make an exceptional pet for the right home who has patience and time to give him to allow him to acclimate. Update to his biography as of 2/27- Sam had his annual exam today and our vet detected a low grade murmur under auscultation. His adoption fee reflects this new update.

Because he is coming from a breeding environment, he will need to be trained to your new home and routine. He currently is pee pad trained and dog door trained to use the yard and go potty. We keep our males in a bellyband. The belly bands can be purchased off of Amazon and easily washed in the washing machine. We will also send some home with him too! He is already neutered, and from experience and feedback from our previous clients, once a male is removed from a breeding setting that there are intact female dogs, potty training should go fairly well with patience, open minded and consistency.  He eats Purina ProPlan and loves it. This is a dog that would love to join you camping, hiking, fishing, etc. He loves the outdoors. He loves to snuggle in your bed, but will also sleep in a dog bed. Sam is a fully health tested male. He has been genetically health tested through Embark Vet. He has had his patellas and heart all certified with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. We require that you will keep in touch with us if you want to adopt him.  It generally takes 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn a new routine, and 3 months to start to feel at home. We do require that you submit an application for consideration. This is not a first come first serve placement. I will allow public meet in greets for local families.

We encourage all prospective adopters to really think this through and not take on a dog that may not work for you. We want his next home to be his forever home. To submit an application for Sam, please use our puppy/dog application for consideration.

  • Please be aware that Sam is from a breeding home. He will not be fully potty trained in a new environment and will take patience and the ability to retrain to establish a new routine

  • Shipping available to the right home and application

  • Meet in greet not encouraged but not required
