Monika is a retired young adult from our program who is searching for a loving forever home to spend the rest of her years enjoying companionship and a quieter lifestyle. She is an incredibly sweet little Chihuahua with a gentle personality and a calm demeanor overall.

Monika can be a bit timid when first meeting new people or entering a new environment, so her future family should understand that she will need patience, time, and reassurance while acclimating. Once she feels comfortable, she is very social with both people and other dogs and truly enjoys companionship. She would likely do well in a home with another calm dog or with someone looking for a devoted little companion.

She is also a very nicely behaved young lady overall. Monika is a minimal barker, easy to groom, pee pad trained, dog door trained, and crate trained. She has wonderful house manners and transitions well into routine once she feels secure.

At exactly 5 pounds, she is the perfect tiny companion size. She will need leash training moving forward, as that has not been a focus within our home environment.

Monika would thrive best in a patient and understanding home that will allow her the time she needs to blossom and build confidence at her own pace. Once settled, she is a truly lovely little Chihuahua with so much love to give.

🐾 Monika's Personality & Training

Monika is a very sweet, gentle soul with a calm nature. She is:

• Pee pad trained

• Dog door trained

• Pen & crate trained

• NOT currently leash trained

She enjoys the company of other Chihuahuas, loves warm blankets and laundry, and can often be found sunbathing or digging for worms.

She may be a little shy at first in a new setting or with new people—but once she settles in, she truly blossoms into a loving little companion.

🏠 What She’s Looking For

Monika would thrive in a home:

• With or without other dogs (including larger breeds)

• That may include small children or cats

• Willing to be patient while she adjusts

• Committed to spaying her within 120 days of adoption

Potty Training Disclaimer:
While she is potty trained here, we cannot guarantee she will be in a new environment. Like all of our rehomed adults, we recommend being open-minded and ready to reintroduce her to a new routine.

• Application required and must be pre-approved

• Meet & greets available (scheduled Tuesday– Thursday during our puppy pickup dates only)

• Shipping available (at adopter’s expense; return shipping also your responsibility if rehoming doesn’t work out)

• Her name can be changed!

• Local or out of state home welcomed!
