🐶 About Sabreena

If happiness could be wrapped up into one little Chihuahua, it would be Sabreena!

Sabreena is a beautiful young adult female who previously retired from our breeding program. Weighing approximately 9 pounds, she's a sturdy, well-built girl with a heart every bit as big as her personality.

Sabreena was previously adopted into a loving home but has recently returned to us through absolutely no fault of her own. Her adopter experienced some unexpected life changes and felt that returning Sabreena to us was in her best interest. While we're disappointed that her first adoption didn't work out, we're committed to finding her a wonderful family where she can settle in permanently.

During her time with her previous family, Sabreena was spayed. She also briefly shared her home with another dog and a cat. According to her previous owner, Sabreena did well with the other dog but wasn't particularly fond of the cat. For that reason, we would prefer a home without cats.

Sabreena genuinely loves life! She's an incredibly happy girl who wakes up excited to see what each new day brings. Her tail is almost always wagging, and she has a joyful personality that makes her an absolute pleasure to be around.

She's active, playful, affectionate, and loves spending time with other dogs. She enjoys running, exploring, playing with toys, and settling down with a good bone. When playtime is over, she's equally happy curling up beside her people on the couch and enjoying some affection.

Our ideal home for Sabreena would be with a family who already has one, two, or even more Chihuahuas. Having familiar canine companionship is something we believe will help her feel comfortable as she transitions into another home. Sabreena spent much of her life surrounded by her Chihuahua friends in our breeding program, and we'd love for her to have that companionship again.

There is one particularly important consideration for anyone interested in adopting Sabreena: she will need additional time to decompress and adjust to her new environment.

Sabreena has experienced several significant changes in a relatively short period. She transitioned from our home into her adoptive home and has now returned to us. Although the commonly discussed 3-3-3 adjustment guideline suggests that dogs may begin feeling fully settled after approximately three months, we anticipate that Sabreena's adjustment period could be considerably longer.

Her new family will need to approach this transition with patience, understanding, and realistic expectations. She may not immediately display every aspect of the happy, outgoing personality we know and love. Building trust, establishing a consistent routine, and allowing her to adjust at her own pace will be incredibly important.

We aren't looking for a family who expects her to settle in overnight. We're looking for a family who understands that relationships take time and who will celebrate the little milestones along the way.

Sabreena has so much love to give, and we want her next adoption to be her last. She's an affectionate, playful, social girl who deserves stability, companionship, and a family committed to her for the rest of her life.

Having spent so many years surrounded by our dogs, we believe Sabreena would particularly enjoy a home with other Chihuahuas where she can continue enjoying the companionship she's accustomed to.

If you have room in your home, patience in your heart, and perhaps a Chihuahua or two looking for another friend, Sabreena might be the perfect addition to your family.

💕 Personality & Training

Sabreena is incredibly outgoing, sweet, and affectionate. She thrives around people and other dogs and would do well in a home that gives her time, love, and patience.

She is:

• Potty pad trained

• Dog door trained (goes outside to potty)

• Treat motivated

• Crate trained

• A minimal barker

• Not leash trained yet

• Easy to groom and trim nails

• Docile and social with both men and women

• She has been exposed to small children, but not large dogs 

• Sorry, no cats!

• Gets slight motion sickness in the car

She will likely need potty training reinforcement in a new environment, especially during her adjustment phase. Most dogs improve quickly once altered and removed from a breeding setting, but accidents are to be expected in the beginning.
