Background: Tyler is a smooth coat black harlequin Merle. He was not born at SFC, but he is related to most of our foundation dogs. He is only 3 years old. He comes neutered, with two dentals completed on him, up to date on all core vaccines. Tyler is a sensitive boy who prefers a woman as his primary caregiver but doesn't dislike men. He will need time to warm up to his new environment. He loves to sleep in bed, dogs beds and curl up on the couch. He is incredibly loyal to a fault and gets his feelings hurt when he isn't the center of your attention. He loves bones, chewies and is very treat motivated. He is dog door trained, crate trained and pen trained. He does well in the car and enjoys doggy clothes and can walk on a harness and leash. He would make an exceptional pet for the right home who has patience and time to give him to allow him to acclimate.

Because he is coming from a breeding environment, he will need to be trained to your new home and routine. He currently is pee pad trained and dog door trained to use the yard and go potty. We keep our males in bellyband. The belly bands can be purchased off of Amazon and easily washed in the washing machine. We will also send some home with him too! He will be neutered before leaving us, and from experience and feedback from our previous clients, once a male is removed from a breeding setting that there are intact female dogs, potty training should go fairly well with patience, open minded and consistency.  He eats Purina ProPlan and loves it. This is a dog that would love to join you camping, hiking, fishing, etc. He loves the outdoors. He loves to snuggle in your bed, but will also sleep in a dog bed. Tyler is a fully health tested male. He has been genetically health tested through Embark Vet. He has had his patellas, eyes and heart all certified with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. We require that you will keep in touch with us if you want to adopt him.  It generally takes 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn a new routine, and 3 months to start to feel at home. We do require that you submit a puppy application for consideration. This is not a first come first serve placement. The application fee is non-refundable. I will allow public meet in greets for local families.

We encourage all prospective adopters to really think this through and not take on a dog that may not work for you. We want his next home to be his forever home. To submit an application for Tyler, please use our puppy application for consideration.

  • Please be aware that Tyler is from a breeding home. He will not be fully potty trained in a new environment and will take patience and the ability to retrain to establish a new routine

  • Shipping available to the right home and application (new owner agrees to pay for return shipping if placement doesn't work out)

  • Meet in greet not encouraged but not required
