Background: Oz was born and raised here at SFC! Oz is a 4th generation of our original lines. He is scheduled to retire simply because it's his turn. He will be four years young in October. He has been genetically health tested with Embark, cleared for eyes, patellas and heart through the Orthopedic foundation for animals. He has been DNA'd with the AKC. All of his health testing is public and can be viewed on the above links.

He is a very friendly dog. He is shy with new people and new settings. He would do well with one owner that he could count on. He likes routine and consistency. He gets along with other dogs and seems to like all people. Oz will come neutered, a final dental cleaning, up to date on all core immunizations, including Rabies. He is microchipped. He has been trained to use a dog door to go outside to go potty, but has been an intact male so will lift his leg. He wears a belly band when in our home. Once neutered and in a new environment, he can be retrained to not potty in the house, but please be open minded that this will take consistency and patience. Oz loves toys and puppies. He seems to do fine in the car for short travelling.

We do not have any cats or small children in our home, but we are open to a home with who may have either. Please be cautious with small children and adopted dogs!  He is not leash trained. He is NOT fully potty trained, especially in a new environment. He uses bellybands in our home or washable pee pads or our doggy door to the fenced yard. He loves his fenced in yard but he would be fine in an apartment setting too.

We encourage all prospective adopters to really think this through and not take on a dog that may not work for you. We want his next home to be his forever home. To submit an application for Oz, please use our puppy/dog application for consideration.

  • Please be aware that Oz is from a breeding home. He will not be fully potty trained in a new environment and will take patience and the ability to retrain to establish a new routine

  • Please read the post below about the 3/3/3 rule! Not one dog is like another and you need to be open minded when adopting an adult dog who is very used to their current environment

  • Shipping available (new owner agrees to pay for return shipping if placement doesn't work out)

  • Meet in greet encouraged but not required
